The Venue

Heaton HallThe Orangery at Heaton Hall is set in 600 acres of beautiful parkland, gardens and pastures. The neo-classical elegance of Heaton Hall makes it a truly stunning venue.  Located just five miles from the city of Manchester and lit entirely by natural light and overlooking beautifully landscaped gardens, the Orangery creates a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere for the event.

The OrangeryThe Orangery was added to the house by the 2nd Earl of Wilton around 1823. It appears to have been designed by Lewis Wyatt as it is similar to his orangeries at Tatton Park and Belton House. He also added the impressive chimney stacks at the same time. Heaton's Orangery has a direct access from the east wing of the house and as the wife of the 2nd Earl, Lady Mary Stanley was a keen botanist it may well have been added for her. It was designed with a domed, glazed roof, fronted by a formal garden with two large copies of the Borghese Vase. The ornate glass roof was removed and relaced with a flat roof after Manchester City Council purchased the park in 1902.
